Ray started his woodworking career at his family’s business, making decks and steps for mobile homes. He furthered his education at TST BOCES in finish carpentry, where competed in the NYS VICA Competition against his peers from all over the state. He took first place at the NYS VICA Competition and went on to compete in the National VICA Competition in Kansas City. He worked for LL Hammond after High School making custom cabinetry and furniture with intricate designs. He also worked for Sunny Brook Builders for 14 years. He often involves multiple generations of his family in helping to create these items. His Dad worked in the logging industry and has helped Ray source some of the lumber he uses. His retired 80 year old step-father, his many brothers, nephew, wife, and son help Ray with all sorts of tasks prepping lumber and making the products.
